Can I use my passport instead of a REAL ID to fly within the US?

Yes. TSA accepts a US passport or passport card at checkpoints in place of a REAL ID.

Yes. TSA says a passport is acceptable ID and can be used instead of a REAL ID license or ID card at the airport. Its checkpoint ID list includes both the US passport and the US passport card, as well as other options such as DHS trusted traveler cards (Global Entry, NEXUS, SENTRI, FAST) and permanent resident cards.

On a domestic flight you need only one valid ID, so a REAL ID or a passport is enough; you don't need both. TSA adds that a passport is still required for international travel. Check TSA's current list before you travel.
