You can pay a $45 fee and let TSA try to confirm who you are, but you may still be turned away. TSA says REAL ID enforcement began on May 7, 2025, and that domestic flights require a REAL ID-compliant card or another accepted ID.
Since February 1, 2026, travelers without an accepted ID can pay $45 to use TSA ConfirmID, TSA's identity-verification process. The fee can only be paid through Pay.gov and covers 10 days from the travel date on your receipt.
Paying is not a guarantee: TSA says it may not be able to verify you, and anyone whose identity cannot be verified will not be allowed past the checkpoint. Check the current rules on tsa.gov before you fly.
