TSA currently accepts listed IDs up to two years after they expire, but a temporary driver's license is not accepted.

An expired ID can still work for now: TSA says that, for the IDs on its accepted list, it currently takes cards that expired up to two years ago.

A temporary driver's license does not count. TSA's list says temporary licenses are not accepted as identification. If you are waiting for a new card in the mail, bring another accepted ID, such as a passport. TSA's list can change without notice, so check tsa.gov before you fly.
