Within 30 days. The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles says you have 30 days after establishing residency to transfer your out-of-state driver license or ID card, title and registration to Ohio. The BMV page lists the events that make you an Ohio resident, such as taking a job, signing a lease, buying a home or enrolling children in school.
You apply for a license or ID card at any Deputy Registrar license agency, and a vision screening is required for an Ohio driver license. First-time drivers and people whose out-of-state license has expired must go through testing. Before you can register a vehicle, you transfer its out-of-state title at a County Clerk of Courts Title Office. Check the BMV's fees page and confirm requirements before you go.
