Up to 90 days. Texas DPS says a new resident can drive on a valid, unexpired license from another US state, a US territory, a Canadian province or a qualifying country for up to 90 days after moving to Texas.

If your license is from another US state, a US territory or Canada and still valid, DPS says you surrender it and do not have to take the knowledge or skills exams. Before you apply, DPS asks you to make sure all your vehicles are registered with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles. In-office driver license services are by appointment only. Check the DPS guide for current requirements.
